Art in Schools Inspires Tomorrow’s Creative Thinkers | Edutopia

   When I created this website, I wrote this slogan for myself: “What our children create today shapes our future for tomorrow”. This article I ran across today describes exactly that.  It’s so important that our children create:  drawing & painting, writing, music, any creative process that is of interest to them.  What they create does not matter, just that they CREATE period. Free Museum Days in LA for Kids

My daughter and I talk about drawing and painting everyday.  Today she had fun drawing by turning a simple piece of paper into a “phone”.  She drew the buttons, added some lines for numbers to call and then made one for all of us so we could “talk”.  I love how she just decided to create them out of paper with a pen.  In this day of technology, it’s a wonder that my kid still says “Mom, can I have a piece of paper and a pen?”.  I know that as a Mom who supports drawing and painting for kids,

Anyone Can Be An Artist: We’re Born To Create
