Art Makes Kids Smart

The Americans for the Arts is a great organization to follow and support.  I couldn’t help but use the ad you see above to support them on my site.  You can follow their blog here.

The excerpt below from their website describes their mission:

We work hard to realize a vision for the arts and arts education. That vision is informed by our belief in the following core values:

  • The arts are fundamental to humanity and have the power to transform lives.
  • Arts education develops well-rounded children and citizens.
  • Artistic expression connects people from around the globe.
  • The arts, broadly defined, are essential to a thriving community, creating a sense of place and fueling social and economic growth.
  • In order to thrive, the arts in America—and broad access to them—need an investment of a mix of public, private and consumer resources.

Studies Prove That Kids Involved in Art Perform Better In School…

I gathered some information from their website and put together the image you see below with key points about how art improves academic performance.  I know how boring reports can be so I thought I’d present the information in a way that was more visually appealing – I am an artist you know (wink wink).

Drawing & Painting Isn’t Just For Kids

Art improves children’s lives in more ways than one.  Art not only makes children become more capable, but improves their self-esteem and confidence.  Children who create art learn skills that can be applied in all aspects of their lives.

Make art part of your child’s life everyday.  You can teach your kids how to draw and paint and have a great time with them.  Enjoy art as a family activity.  Drawing and painting with my daughter is one of my favorite things to do.  If you don’t know to draw and paint – you can learn, no specials skills or talent needed.  Just the desire to learn – and the right instruction.

Use the products I recommend below and follow along with your child.  You both will have a great time while learning how to draw and paint.  The links included are affiliate links.  There is no additional cost to you and I appreciate your referral.

Happy Sunday!
