How to Draw Cartoons at the LA County Fair – Pencils 2 Pixels Exhibit

  I was so excited to visit the Pencils 2 Pixels exhibit during our recent visit to the LA County Fair.  What kid doesn’t love their cartoons?  The exhibit displayed every step of the animation process from early pencil sketches to clay sculptures for 3D animation.  The entire building is full of fascinating displays and interactive activities for the kids. Anyone Can Be An Artist: We’re Born To Create

Drawing and Painting are the most basic means of creative expression for any human being and nurturing that desire in our children is imperative.   I truly feel that as a Mom, I am my daughter’s first teacher, not only in Art, but in everything.  It is my obligation and privilege to show her new things, bring new experiences to her world and share with her endless possibilities that lie ahead for her in this life. Father’s Day

  So to celebrate Father’s Day instead of buying the usual cards and gifts, I asked my 5 year-old daughter if she wanted to create paintings for her Dad and her Grandfathers.  She was more than delighted.  I needed to stock up on paint, so a quick trip to Michael’s and we were set.  You have to love their online 50% off  coupons.  You can’t beat that.  I found this great set at one heck of a great deal (about $25.00 with the coupon).  We needed a new table top easel and some fresh acrylic paints so it was perfect.

So You Think You Can Be A Painter?

So I was chatting with my Mom today and she shared with me that she had seen a really cute commercial featuring a man who receives a painting easel as a gift from his wife.  He goes on a spree of painting through all different environments while his wife is supporting him along the way… funny thing is she could not remember what the commercial was actually for, but she did remember his paintings!
