Watercolor Painting With My Daughter On Vacation

Our family recently traveled up to the Lake Tulloch area of California for a mini vacation.  I was eager to escape the traffic and congestion of Los Angeles in exchange for blue skies and beautiful landscapes.  I was very pleased with my choice of location to spend a few days away enjoying nature.  We were met at our vacation cabin by neighborhood deer, a wandering fox, and roaming wild turkeys.  With such a great landscape right outside my window, I couldn’t help but want to capture it with a little watercolor landscape painting.  My daughter is always eager to create

Anyone Can Be An Artist: We’re Born To Create

Drawing and Painting are the most basic means of creative expression for any human being and nurturing that desire in our children is imperative.   I truly feel that as a Mom, I am my daughter’s first teacher, not only in Art, but in everything.  It is my obligation and privilege to show her new things, bring new experiences to her world and share with her endless possibilities that lie ahead for her in this life. One of my Favorite Paintings

While I was helping my daughter with her Father’s Day paintings a few days ago, I took this photo of one of my favorite paintings I did some time ago.  My Mom proudly displays it in her home.  I used a simple palette and I just love the quick impression the flowers left on me with their vibrant colors.  Just wanted to share an original painting.  I hope you enjoy.   One of my Favorite Paintings was last modified: July 4th, 2013 by Art Mom

Father’s Day

So to celebrate Father’s Day instead of buying the usual cards and gifts, I asked my 5 year-old daughter if she wanted to create paintings for her Dad and her Grandfathers.  She was more than delighted.  I needed to stock up on paint, so a quick trip to Michael’s and we were set.  You have to love their online 50% off  coupons.  You can’t beat that.  I found this great set at one heck of a great deal (about $25.00 with the coupon).  We needed a new table top easel and some fresh acrylic paints so it was perfect.

So You Think You Can Be A Painter?

So I was chatting with my Mom today and she shared with me that she had seen a really cute commercial featuring a man who receives a painting easel as a gift from his wife.  He goes on a spree of painting through all different environments while his wife is supporting him along the way… funny thing is she could not remember what the commercial was actually for, but she did remember his paintings! Now for how successful the marketing campaign is, since she couldn’t remember what it was for, I’ll leave that for them to decide. Take a look
