Watercolor Painting With My Daughter On Vacation

Our family recently traveled up to the Lake Tulloch area of California for a mini vacation.  I was eager to escape the traffic and congestion of Los Angeles in exchange for blue skies and beautiful landscapes.  I was very pleased with my choice of location to spend a few days away enjoying nature.  We were met at our vacation cabin by neighborhood deer, a wandering fox, and roaming wild turkeys.  With such a great landscape right outside my window, I couldn’t help but want to capture it with a little watercolor landscape painting.  My daughter is always eager to create

Free Museum Days in LA for Kids

My daughter and I talk about drawing and painting everyday.  Today she had fun drawing by turning a simple piece of paper into a “phone”.  She drew the buttons, added some lines for numbers to call and then made one for all of us so we could “talk”.  I love how she just decided to create them out of paper with a pen.  In this day of technology, it’s a wonder that my kid still says “Mom, can I have a piece of paper and a pen?”.  I know that as a Mom who supports drawing and painting for kids,

Father’s Day

  So to celebrate Father’s Day instead of buying the usual cards and gifts, I asked my 5 year-old daughter if she wanted to create paintings for her Dad and her Grandfathers.  She was more than delighted.  I needed to stock up on paint, so a quick trip to Michael’s and we were set.  You have to love their online 50% off  coupons.  You can’t beat that.  I found this great set at one heck of a great deal (about $25.00 with the coupon).  We needed a new table top easel and some fresh acrylic paints so it was perfect.
