Art Contests For Kids – February 2014

Art contests are a great way to give your children an opportunity to share their art.  Even if they’re not selected as a winner, encourage them to be proud for entering and sharing their art with others. Encouraging our kids to draw, paint, and create is so important.  If your children are not interested in drawing & painting, encourage them to express their creativity in the areas that interest them most. It could be writing, building things, singing, etc.  All of our children are creative and as parents it’s our job to support and encourage them along the way. See

Drawing With Liquid Chalkers

My daughter and I had the privilege to use and review Liquid Chalkers by Paper and Twine. I was so excited to use these new markers as I’ve never really used anything more than dry erase markers and the usual crayons, markers, pencils, etc. I have to honestly say that I don’t really care for traditional “chalk”.  I just can’t stand the scratchy feeling and sounds when using it on our little chalkboard and the dust as well! I was delighted to give these new Liquid Chalkers a good try out.   This post contains affiliate links.  There is

Drawing Fun With The Big Draw LA

Today we made our way to the Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles for a community drawing event – The Big Draw LA.  The beautiful Grand Park is nestled among the city buildings in the heart of downtown.  I’ve been looking for a chance to visit this park and today was the day!  I always like visiting downtown on the weekend to avoid the crowds and traffic. The weather was gorgeous today!  My daughter and I made our way to one of the many tables of supplies and helped ourselves to a little basket of drawing materials.  We

Art Friendly Cities For Kids

I’m definitely planning to make our next little family get-away to somewhere that is art and family friendly. After spending a little time painting with my daughter during our last vacation, I’ll make sure to pack my paints for our next trip so we can get in some more painting time together. While looking around online I ran across a great article on the top 12 art places in the US.   You can read the entire article at artplaceamerica.org. I figured I’d save you the time of reading over the 35 page article.  Who has time for that
