Drawing For Real Life – Architecture For Kids

  I visited the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles with my daughter.  Sunday, September 8th,  was the last opportunity to see their current exhibit A. Quincy Jones: Building for Better Living. There are so many great opportunities to appreciate art around us and I love taking the time to share and explore them with my 5 year-old daughter. Drawing for kids is mostly a hobby.  By visiting the Hammer, I wanted my daughter to understand how drawing fits into everyday life and introduce her to one of the careers possible in the arts. Art Friendly Cities For Kids

  I’m definitely planning to make our next little family get-away to somewhere that is art and family friendly. After spending a little time painting with my daughter during our last vacation, I’ll make sure to pack my paints for our next trip so we can get in some more painting time together. Free Museum Days in LA for Kids

My daughter and I talk about drawing and painting everyday.  Today she had fun drawing by turning a simple piece of paper into a “phone”.  She drew the buttons, added some lines for numbers to call and then made one for all of us so we could “talk”.  I love how she just decided to create them out of paper with a pen.  In this day of technology, it’s a wonder that my kid still says “Mom, can I have a piece of paper and a pen?”.  I know that as a Mom who supports drawing and painting for kids,
